1. Introduction

​

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all fire door installation and fire stopping services provided by Fire Shield London Ltd ("Fire Shield", "we", "our", "us") to the client ("Client", "you", "your"). By engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Scope of Work

​

2.1 Fire Shield will provide fire door installation and passive fire protection services as per the agreed quotation and scope of works.
2.2 Any variation to the scope must be confirmed in writing and may result in additional charges.
2.3 All works will comply with current UK fire safety regulations, including BS 476, BS EN 1634, and relevant parts of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

3. Surveys and Assessments

​

3.1 Site surveys will be conducted prior to commencement where necessary.
3.2 All recommendations are based on our findings during the site survey or from documentation provided.
3.3 Fire Shield shall not be held liable for any latent defects not reasonably identifiable during inspection.

4. Client Obligations

​

4.1 The Client must ensure clear access to the work area and notify occupants in advance.
4.2 It is the Client’s responsibility to provide accurate information and any relevant building drawings, plans, or existing fire risk assessments.
4.3 The Client must ensure that any required permissions (including building control or landlord consent) are obtained.

5. Health & Safety and Compliance

​

5.1 All works will be carried out in accordance with Fire Shield’s health and safety policy.
5.2 Our operatives are trained and certified in fire stopping and fire door installation, in line with third-party accreditation schemes where applicable.
5.3 We reserve the right to stop work on-site if unsafe conditions are identified.

6. Third-Party Certification

​

6.1 Fire Shield London Ltd is committed to high standards and, where applicable, provides third-party certification (e.g., BM TRADA, FIRAS) for fire stopping and fire door installations.
6.2 Certification will be issued only upon full completion and settlement of final invoices.

​

7. Materials and Workmanship

​

7.1 All materials used will comply with industry standards and be installed in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
7.2 Any warranties on materials are as per manufacturer’s terms.
7.3 Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion, excluding misuse, third-party damage, or alterations by others.

8. Pricing and Payment

​

8.1 Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise agreed.
8.2 All prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated.
8.3 Payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
8.4 Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

9. Cancellations and Delays

​

9.1 Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start may be subject to a cancellation fee.
9.2 Fire Shield shall not be held liable for delays caused by factors outside our control, including supply chain issues, weather, or restricted site access.

10. Limitation of Liability

​

10.1 Fire Shield’s total liability for any claim, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific work in question.
10.2 Fire Shield is not liable for consequential or indirect losses.

​

11. Insurance

11.1 Fire Shield London Ltd maintains appropriate public liability and employer’s liability insurance for the nature of our work.
11.2 Insurance certificates are available on request.

​

12. Termination

​

12.1 Either party may terminate the contract with immediate effect in the event of a material breach.
12.2 On termination, all outstanding charges will become immediately due and payable.

13. Confidentiality

​

All documents, drawings, and specifications issued by Fire Shield remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed. The Client agrees not to share proprietary information with third parties without prior written consent.

​

14. Governing Law

​

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
